Water Drunkeness?

Yes, you can get drunk on water! Drinking too much water can quickly lead to water intoxication, which occurs when water dilutes the sodium level in the bloodstream and causes an imbalance of water in the brain.
Down here in the Outer Banks, we love our water. We love to swim in it, look at it, sail on it, fish in it and drink it. However, I don't know of an instance of water intoxication occuring in this area (although I have read of this condition before in the newspapers). We also like to drink a little beer on those hot, hot summer days. So, if you're traveling to the Outer Banks, make sure to stop in Jarvisburg, NC on Hwy 158 going to the beach and sample some of the micro-brewed beer at the Weeping Radish Eco Farm and Brewery. Uli, the owner and biermeister, would love to see you! Take a tour of the farm and brewery, and while you're sampling the different beers, the kids can watch the goats! Visit the website at www.weepingradish.com. See you there! (That is not to imply that I am there all the time.)
